Elizabeth J. “Liz” Johnston, 93, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at her home in Vernon Hills, IL. She was born March 25, 1931 in St. Louis, MO and had been a resident of Vernon Hills for the past 8 years. Liz enjoyed traveling with her late husband, David, until retiring to Alabama where she was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Greenville. She was active and very involved with the church as a cantor, communion minister, taking communion to those who were homebound and designing alter cloths. Liz attended St. Paul the Apostle church in Gurnee, IL and enjoyed painting, crafting, quilting and making jewelry.
A Committal Service will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, April 16, 2023, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Relatives and friends are respectively invited to join us at the cemetery prior to the service on Tuesday morning.
