Rita C. (James) Campbell, 90, of Marysville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center, Carlisle.
Born Saturday, December 2, 1933, in Charleston, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Howard James and Ruth (Bail) James. She was married to Robert E. Campbell until his death on June 3, 1993.
Rita worked at Kmart, Enola, for over 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, and absolutely loved animals. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by a son, David E. Campbell, married to Judy, of Duncannon. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson, as well as Rita’s extended family and caring friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five children: James, Dale, John, Ron Campbell, Virginia Philips, and a grandson, Christopher Campbell.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Marysville Church of God, 106 Maple Avenue, Marysville, PA 17053. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow the services in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville. I was Rita’s daughter-in-law for 26 years. I loved her dearly and will never forget her!
I worked with Rita at the Summerdale K-Mart. Such a sweet lady. Taught me a lot about the world of retail. May you rest in peace Rita. Prayers for you and your family.
We have arranged to have a tree planted in a national forest in memory of Rita and the lives she touched and influenced.
